I've never had a christmastree before, but this year I got one. A small tree. Previously I've had large branches in a large bowl.
I've decorated it with dried berries, tinstars (I made these from old tins, you can check out how to here, it's in swedish but there's pics so you will be able to make them even without the knowledge of swedish) crochet snowflakes (from Lundagård), red onions and on top I placed a votive heart.
I do enjoy this season. Hope you do too. I found this today, a lovely version and for me new lyrics.
Take care lovely friends!

Today the saddest of news reached us, one of the most beautiful and most brave souls has passed away. With love and with honor will we remember Nelson Mandela. His memory and legacy will live on. In us all. It was an unexpected flood of tears I experienced when I read all the beautiful words my friends had posted on facebook.
Today is Finland's Independence day.
Above is a picture of my plant I hung yesterday. I have no idea what it's called in english, and yesterday I had no clue what it was called in my own languages. But thanks to facebook I now know it is Kultaköynnös is finnish and Gullranka in swedish.

Dear friends, time has flown again. It is already december!
We've only had a little snow here, for the past few days. The sea is still open, only by the shore you could spot the ice taking form.
I've just been out for a lovely run. Had a shower and then had dinner.I seem to have a thing for almonds, roasted almonds. I add roasted almonds to almost any dish...hih!
Stay warm dear friends. I have been listening to this. It is not a new song, but for some reason I have now got this song on my skin. Mando Diao is more famous for singing in english, and also for a rather different gendre than this song. But I love this. Poem by Gustaf Fröding.

We've had a very mild autumn. No sign of snow. Yet.
Running, watergym, yoga, choir and obviously work, keeps me busy. And add to that, visits to the capital, visits to the theatre, a few gigs, exhibitions and spending time with friends. A very good life indeed. And I have no need nor interest to spend too much of it online;)
Above is my darling Muru on a new rug. She enjoys it very much.
Keep warm friends.

...is very good. I am happy where I'm at, what I'm doing and whom I get to share my everyday with.
Trying to sort out things to keep. Not sure about the tiny, hih, flowercolumn...it's of russian origin. I find it beautiful, just not an easy piece unless you have a palace. And by now you all go OMG, we thought she lived in a palace. Or at least, she has given the impression the cottage is of palace dimensions... I could always use it as a bar. To just hang by when I'm home. Where are you? Oh I'm just hanging in the bar...or then I could paint it a colour more suitable for the surroundings. Huuuuge dilemma. Huge!
And now, hold on to your hats. Guess what I did yesterday? I bodyboarded!!!! If you have never heard of it, here's a video. It was lots of fun. And one has found a few previosly un-noticed muscles.
Have a great Halloween!

I am well, just very busy with a new dayjob and still trying to cope with jobs not yet ready, from my freelance past. And the moving. Plus I'm moving again in just a few days, I found another house that is more suited for my needs. I am very pleased, but there's plenty for one person to handle. Today when I cykled home in the rain from work, I for a split second had a thought, now I really wish there would be a warm gentle dear person waiting for me at home. I seldom feel lonely, in fact I don't think I have felt lonely, but today I was especially happy to have a furry friend. One of those days, one of those days.
So it will be a little quiet on the blogfront for a while. But I am still here and even if I don't leave comments, I still pop in and read your posts.
Take care and thank you for popping by, though it is rather quiet here. And thank you for your lovely words, they warm my heart.
Above is one of my etched glasses.

During the weekend I decided not to do anything to do with the house. So on friday I took myself out for a run and then had a sauna. On saturday I had brekky at a favorite café and saw a danceperformance in the evening. On sunday I went for an outing to see an exhibition at Villa Roosa in Orimattila. The exhibition was so wonderful. In the evening I met up with friends and had dinner.
Time to wish you good night and have a good week!

I'm sad to have to tell you, the house that I was about to buy, well, after a thorough check, it turned out to have too many hidden risks. For ex. the roof was minerit-board, which classifies as toxic waste (it contains 20% asbestos fibre), and can in the worst cases turn out extremely expensive and hard to get rid of.
But good news is that I have managed to rent a small house bult in the 1850's. So whilst I continue househunting, I can still live in the best location and most adorable house ever. Unfortunately this particular house is not for sale.
The weekend was so lovely so I got some plants and herbs for the front garden, my little bench and table is perfect size for this patio. Picture above.
Today I shall hit the beach in the afternoon, after I've done a little more unpacking.

That is what I am. Very much. But things are running way too slow for me. But I try to tell myself, this is time to grow...heh;)
Above is a brooch that my mum bought for me in Tallinn. It was attached to this lovely board. I've kept it there as it looks like they should be together.

I was going through my cupboards and putting things aside that I could get rid of when I move. So I took this picture and thought I sell the small glassdome. But then I thought it looked nice so I decided to keep it;) I have used it once before and now I suddenly "found" it;) This wasn't really the plan...

I found a wooden box in my street (people leave things they do no longer need in the street for others to use or give new life).
I sandpapered the surface, painted it black and glued vintage die cuts and used varnish to top it of. Now I have a solid box for all those very very precious bits and pieces one needs to hold on to!
The books in the last picture were found at the same time. They are old finnish theatre plays.

I picked this in our garden.
I am planning the menu for midsummer, I have friends coming over and hopefully we can eat in the garden.
I am going to bake a skyr cake. I tried it last weekend when my parents came into town from their summerhouse, and it turned out just as delicious as I remembered it (I have only tasted skyr cake once before).

It's summer, the garden is wonderful, most flowers are in full bloom and I even managed to get something to bloom inside;)
I am in the midst of selling my apartment, trying to pack and organize as I have a new job starting in august, in another town and I am, well, saying I'm excited is probably understating my feelings;)
Many of my friends are obviously sad to see me leave, but I'm only 1½hrs away and I am going to get myself a small house with a garden and a little greenhouse...it will all be very lovely - I promise!!!!

Yes. I have put my lovely apartment up for sale and I am moving!
I shall let you know more once all has been settled.
I have been very happy here and I believe anyone moving into this apartment will be as happy.
Change is good. I feel brave and I am proud of myself for beeing this brave.
Happy weekend dear friends!
Above is a knife I bought today, it has the name Hagar engraved. Not a very common name. I only know one Hagar. And that is author Hagar Olsson.
I have been listening to this song. Very suitable for rainy and windy and chilly summer days...

...has turned tropical again. It's hot!
No wonder I could spot a few parrots in my flat...they are talking to each other in a language I do not understand;)
I'm listening to two very chatty parrots and Coop and an electric fan whilst drinking water and ice-tea and trying very hard to consentrate on something that begins with w...but not for long, as I better hook up with a pirot and get myself a banjo and some whiskey and perhaps we'll get down to some real parrot-business!

I gathered small things that I have been given. I am one lucky creature walking on this planet and this line shows how spoiled I am. Reminds me of dear people in my life. So a warm thank you to Thomas, Aki, Kreetta, Virve, Elizabeth, Ulrike and Kerstin.
I posted this on facebook, but I want to post this even here as many of my friends read my blog too.

Is what I'm turning into this weekend. I have no less than four parties to attend! Tonight is a triple birthday, tomorrow a suprise-birthday and opening of my favorite summer-café and sunday is a birthday pic-nic.
Happy Birthday to my dear friends!
Above are some pearls I'm going to use for a project...the chimpanzee is my favorite necklace and there just because he likes to be photographed;)

I cykled approx. 25km today. In pouring rain. Something happened to my jacket, it suddenly started to let in the rain and I ended up soaking wet. Well, had to just speed up the pace to keep warm and remind me that we have sauna on wednesday evenings in my house.
So after wet cykling and sauna I am ready for bed.

That is what this country has turned into!
Last night I cykled home and had to shower before going to bed as it was quite humid. The night was in fact magical, I lie in bed, with the window open, the warm slightly humid air and the birds and the memory of smiles and warm people I had met during the week and listened to this magical musician (I purchaised this cd yesterday when he was playing in the street - mainly just to support an indie-artist, but it turned out a great purchaise! Very relaxing and calming, good to listen to before going to sleep).
Wishinh you a happy sunday.
Above some stuff from my ladder-shelf.

A tricky one. Just not sure what is making my throat sore and itchy. But it's a nuisance whatever it is. Hit the road sore and itchy throat. Please. And thank you.
Above an "earless soupbowl". Excellent for plants and found for a few quid at the fleamarket.

...it has been a bit quiet here due to a certain someone sporting with busy. I don't particularly like it, but there are times when I cannot delegate nor share tasks. So, I just have to try to remember to breathe and sleep. Luckily we have great weather and it's a pleasure to cykle in the morning and in the evening.

As somebody once wisely said.
Busy and fun week ahead, ending with a workshop in the weekend. Now it's time to turn off the computer, lit candles, listen to the rain against my window and cuddle with my sweet cat.
Above are my chicks, aren't they lovely? An etching from year 1928 in original wooden frame.
