I found this plaster bust at the fleamarket, not sure at all from what era she might be. I don't think it is new and made to look vintage, it's not antique but could be from the 50's maybe. But I really like her worn surface. I am certain the two ladies will become close friends...and chat away all day long;)

The sun is out, so shall also me, myself and I be, in a short while.
And, tickets for a trip to Berlin has been booked. I am so looking forward to spending time with a lovely person in one of my favorite cities.
But it's yet another month before we depart. Still something wonderful to look forward to.
Wishing you all a sunny and wonderful weekend!
Above is my pink collection.

I've had a wonderful weekend!
Beautiful company, delicious vegetarian food, organic wine, great music, interesting talks, winter walks in sunshine and I feel I have been spoiled! I am one lucky girl dancing on this planet;)
Above is an antique tinted french card. You know I've got a small collection...

It has been very very very cold in Helsinki today. It was - 19°C early in the evening and now it has become even more colder. I might not want to stick my nose out tomorrow;) I am very grateful for wool. In rugs. In socks. In sweaters. In throws. And flannel. Let's not forget flannel. And living in an old wooden house with draft, well, makes life worth living;) And I am also very happy for a purring catfriend ;)
Keep warm dear friends! And have a wonderful weekend!
Above is a framed holy card. I like the soft colours.

My friend A is spending the day in Helsinki, so I am soon about to meet her for lunch. Can't wait to meet her again, we last met in the autumn when she last visited. Now she is only here for the day.
Above is an antique map of Helsinki, from approx. 1850. Sounds grand, but it is not worth anything as it has been glued onto cardboard and it has been torn at the bottom. I picked it up for a fiver from an antiquarian at the last bookfair in Helsinki. But for me those matters do not matter, I find it very charming and beautiful indeed.

These lovely heads are tiny and hand carved in beautiful dark wood. A lovely quartet on my shelf. Makes me happy every time I look at them. I cannot for the life of me tell you who made these, I picked them up in a small shop that sell products from Africa. But Africa is not a country, it's a continent with many many countries. I wish I knew where these came from and who made them.

This is a blurry image. Somehow it reflects how I feel today.
The framed print is a page I bought in an antiquarian bookshop in december. The shopkeeper had decided to sell the prints separately as no one bought the whole lot. I think she said there were about 240 pages, and that the folder had originally consisted of over 300, so some had gone missing over the years. They were beautiful and we were a bunch of curious and excited people going through the lot whilst drinking glögg (trad. christmas drink) and eating gingerbread and listening to nice music.

Early in december last year, I heard news of a distant relative whom had now sadly passed away. He was of old age and also spent his last 10 years in a carehome as he had parkinsons disease. I never knew him, nor did I ever meet him. But someone who took care of him, contacted my father (who only had met his half-brother once when they were very young) and now sent him a bunch of old photographs.
This my dear friends is a photograph of my grandmother Alli and my grandfather George. I have never before seen a picture of them together. In fact the only picture I have seen of my grandmother, is a slightly blurry enlarged passport portrait. Framed. A very precious image.
I love how proud my grandfather looks. I would be very proud if I was standing next to my grand mother, apparently she was very very kind.
I wrote about Alli here.

I went for a run and then I went winterbathing with my friends, I swam three times in the sea and saw fireworks in the sky!
Later I attended a wonderful party with wonderful people and feel very blessed and honoured to know such a variety of people who are so genuinely kind and generous and warm and loving!
Above is one of my framed Deborah Bowness wallpapers and on top two small vintage oil paintings, both found at fleamarkets. The one on the right is my latest find;) Just painted the frame black. It is painted by a russian artist in the 50's.
Wishing all love, respect, joy, happiness and peace!
