A tree!

I've never had a christmastree before, but this year I got one. A small tree. Previously I've had large branches in a large bowl.

I've decorated it with dried berries, tinstars (I made these from old tins, you can check out how to here, it's in swedish but there's pics so you will be able to make them even without the knowledge of swedish) crochet snowflakes (from Lundagård), red onions and on top I placed a votive heart.

I do enjoy this season. Hope you do too. I found this today, a lovely version and for me new lyrics.

Take care lovely friends!

6.12.2013

Today the saddest of news reached us, one of the most beautiful and most brave souls has passed away. With love and with honor will we remember Nelson Mandela. His memory and legacy will live on. In us all. It was an unexpected flood of tears I experienced when I read all the beautiful words my friends had posted on facebook.

Today is Finland's Independence day.

Above is a picture of my plant I hung yesterday. I have no idea what it's called in english, and yesterday I had no clue what it was called in my own languages. But thanks to facebook I now know it is Kultaköynnös is finnish and Gullranka in swedish.

December

Dear friends, time has flown again. It is already december!
We've only had a little snow here, for the past few days. The sea is still open, only by the shore you could spot the ice taking form.

I've just been out for a lovely run. Had a shower and then had dinner.I seem to have a thing for almonds, roasted almonds. I add roasted almonds to almost any dish...hih!

Stay warm dear friends. I have been listening to this. It is not a new song, but for some reason I have now got this song on my skin. Mando Diao is more famous for singing in english, and also for a rather different gendre than this song. But I love this. Poem by Gustaf Fröding.
